SF Express launches in Hokkaido, a rapidly growing destination for Chinese tourism and business investment

From 1st March 2019 SF Express Japan will open a further business centre in Sapporo, Hokkaido to support the growing number of Chinese tourists and businesses attracted to the area.
Hokkaido offers tourists to Japan a quieter, travel experience than they’d get in Tokyo or Kyoto, and has become a destination for the more adventurous, as it offers exceptional outdoor activities throughout the year. According to Jing Travel, Hokkaido attracted 660,000 Mainland Chinese tourists in 2018, less than 10 percent of the total number of Chinese arrivals to Japan. However, by 2020, Hokkaido targets 5 million international tourists, and China is expected to account for 1.5 million of them. That would be an almost 150 percent increase in just two years. SF Express intends to be able to offer tourists the same trusted level of Express service they would be able to enjoy in China.
Apart from supporting tourists with competitive return shipments, SF is also focusing on the exceptional quality of Hokkaido’s fresh products;in particular, assisting with the export of Seafood and Dairy products from Hokkaido direct to China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
From 1st March SF Express Japan will be offering customers pick up services throughout Hokkaido, but in particular in Sapporo and Nisseko. SF Express Japan will provide Standard Express service, Economy Express service, Box Direct, and International Heavy Freight – featuring direct flights from Sapporo’s Chitose Airport.
