SF raises the first green goal in the logistics industry -"Zero Carbon Future"
On April 22 Earth Day, as a social responsible corporate citizen, SF actively respond to China's carbon peak and neutrality goals, and raises the first green proposal—“Zero Carbon Future” in the China’s logistic industry.
Over the years, SF has incorporated the green concept into the container packaging, transportation and in-transit of express delivery through scientific and technological innovation, so as to improve its own resource utilization, reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption, and practice social responsibility for environmental protection.
The “Zero Carbon Future” goal is planning to establish a smart carbon management platform to form a standard mechanism by combing all green and ecofriendly means, and continuously extending green value throughout industry chain, by working with upstream and downstream partners and customers to accelerate low carbon transformation and development, together towards zero carbon future.
Technology empower the digital carbon management platform evolution
Through the forward-looking layout in the cutting-edge science and technology fields such as artificial intelligence, big data, robots, Internet of things, logistics maps, intelligent packaging, and combined with the application of new energy, SF will inject the power of science and technology into full shipment life cycle enhance service quality and efficiency, as well as further reduce carbon emission
In order to promote the "Zero carbon Future", SF has built a standard carbon management system and launched the Smart carbon Management platform-Fenghe Sustainable Development platform.
Through the integration of carbon emissions and carbon reduction data, which covers data from packaging, transportation, transit, distribution and other phases across all business units. The standardized carbon management chassis capability based on this platform can be quickly reused to the upstream and downstream partners of the industrial chain by providing carbon accounting services, standardized low-carbon logistics products and customized low-carbon supply chain solutions, to help customers achieve sustainable development and build a "zero-carbon future".
At present, the platform has been certified by the third-party authority SGS.
Promoting application of green packaging by innovation and development
SF has invented and launched the carbon neutralization product π-box recycled package since 2018, and carried out a upgrade in 2021. The upgraded recycling box adopts a more recyclable simple material PP honeycomb plate, and uses a self-locking bottom folding structure and a full box magic bonding mode, eliminating the use of consumable materials such as adhesive tape and zippers. π-box has been put into operation on a pilot basis since July 1, 2021. By the end of December 2021, 720000 π-box have been put into operation, realizing 2.8 million recycling. In 2022, the number of π-box recycling boxes is expected to exceed 2.2 million.
In 2021, SF completed the FJ Plan 2.0 upgrade and launched the reduction, standardization and scene-oriented innovative development of eight categories of materials, such as plastic bags, adhesive tape, stickers and seals, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by a total of 279,000 tons through green packaging.
Realizing green and energy-saving transportation by combing air and ground transportation
SF uses the combination of "green fleet" and new energy vehicles to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from each package.
In terms of air transport, we will build a "green fleet" with low energy consumption and high efficiency, and introduce large cargo aircraft with higher fuel efficiency and lower fuel consumption per hour per ton of deadweight, such as 747, 757 and 767, and through a series of measures such as cutoff and straightening, secondary release and other measures to continuously reduce aircraft energy consumption.
In terms of land transportation, SF buys new energy vehicles, hydrogen fuel light trucks and LNG natural gas tractors in bulk, and increases the investment and use of new energy vehicles through a variety of ways. By the end of 2021, new energy vehicles have been put into use in 215 cities.
Working consumers to explore and establish the industry’s inclusive mechanism
Since 2020, SF has raised the "GO GREEN TOGETHER" campaign, which launched a creative carton transformation campaign to inspire users to transform and reuse cartons board card into new creations, aiming to recycling "waste" into treasure.
In 2021, SF "GO GREEN TOGETHER” campaign had distributed over hundred thousand creative board card cartons in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and more cities to encourage more people to join and participate.
By the end of 2021, SF Green Shipping Energy Platform to invite more cosnumers to use recycling packaging and giving out green points in rewards, these green points could be redeemed for gifts and coupons. In 2022, the platform has been upgraded and enhance more point collecting scenarios, and will introduce more and more low-carbon service and rewards, working towards low-carbon living.
On World Environment Day on June 5 2021, SF released the industry's first White Paper on carbon targets 2021, setting a more ambitious carbon reduction target-a 55% increase in carbon efficiency by 2030 compared with 2021, and a 70% reduction in the carbon footprint of each delivery package compared with 2021, in order to promote green innovation and create climate-friendly kind of express delivery.
SF’s contribution in implementing social responsibility for environmental protection and promoting social sustainable development is obvious to all. Judging from the achievements made so far, the "Zero carbon Future" is expected to become the green responsibility IP of SF Group.
