Kindly Reminder of Transit Time Affected by the Third Typhoon Gaemi
Dear Customers,
According to the yellow alert of typhoon issued by the National Meteorological Center of CMA on July 23, 2024:
The center of Typhoon Gaemi, the third typhoon of this year, was located on the sea surface about 660 kilometers south by east of Yilan County, Taiwan Province of China at 8 o’clock this morning. It is forecasted to travel north-northwestward at a speed of 20-25 kilometers per hour, with its strength likely to increase gradually. It may be strengthened to a super typhoon (winds of 16-17) and make landfall on the north central coast of Taiwan Island on the evening of July 24 (severe typhoon, winds of 14-15). After that, it will cross Taiwan Island and make landfall along the coast between central Fujian and southern Zhejiang from late in the afternoon to the evening of the July 25 (typhoon or severe typhoon, winds of level 12-14). Then, it will further go inland to the north with gradually diminishing strength. It is estimated that there will be heavy rain to rainstorm in part of the areas such of Taiwan, Fujian, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Jiangxi, Hunan, Henan, Hebei and so on, and there will be downpour in part of the areas.
Affected by the weather, the traffic capacity of airports may be reduced and part of the highways may be closed. The transit time of shipments in and out of the alerted areas will be affected to certain extent. SF will pay close attention to the weather, allocate resources properly and guarantee safe delivery of the shipments. Sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you!
